Viagra Connect

Viagra Connect is the first treatment for erectile problems available over the counter.

Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is difficulty obtaining and/or maintaining an erection. Often men will notice this themselves and it can be different for each person.

There can be several reasons and causes that ED happens. There may be physical problems, psychological causes or sometimes other medication can cause ED. If you have some conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol then you may be more likely to suffer from erection problems. Depression, performance anxiety and stress can also play a part. Alcohol and medicines may also affect men in ways which interfere with their sex lives. 

How does it work?

Viagra Connect works by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis which increases the hardness of an erection. It also helps maintain this erection for longer. This reaction is based on sexual stimulation, so there has to be some sexual excitement involved for Viagra Connect to work.

What’s in it?

Viagra Connect tablets contain 50mg of sildenafil. This is the most common average dose for the majority of men. However, some men will have to take a lower or a higher strength depending on their personal situation. These men must contact their GP to speak about their options. 

Who can take it?

Men over the age of 18 who suffer from erectile dysfunction and who are not allergic to any of the ingredients. Men with certain health conditions such as low blood pressure, liver or kidney problems, penis malformation conditions, certain eye conditions, and bleeding issues may not be suitable for Viagra Connect. This list is not exhaustive and if you are in doubt then please call us and ask to speak to the pharmacist. 

Viagra Connect is not suitable if you have any of the following issues:

• You get very breathless or get chest pains with light or moderate physical activity
• You have been advised against sexual activity because of a heart condition
• You have had a stroke or heart attack recently
• You are on certain medicines. (Please inform the pharmacist of any medicines you are taking)

You will receive a 100% refund if we cannot supply Viagra to you following consultation. 

How to take:

Take one tablet 30 minutes to 1 hour before sexual activity (swallow with a glass of water). You can take with or without food but a high fat meal may delay the effect. The maximum is one tablet a day. You may need to take Viagra Connect over a few days to achieve the best effect. If this does not happen then you must contact your doctor. 

If there are any changes to your regular medicine please inform the pharmacist as it may interact with Viagra Connect. 

Side effects:

Some side effects include headache, flushing, heartburn, blocked nose, dizziness, nausea, changes in your vision. If you suffer these effects after taking Viagra Connect and are concerned please contact our pharmacist or a doctor. 

If you experience any of these symptoms STOP taking Viagra Connect and contact your doctor immediately:

• Chest pains before, during or after sex
• A persistent and sometimes painful erection lasting longer than 4 hours
• A sudden decrease or loss of vision
• An Allergic reaction (swelling of face, tongue and lips; difficulty breathing/wheeze)
• A serious skin reaction (peeling, swelling, blistering)
• Seizures or fits

Follow up:

ED is associated with other health conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes. As a result, all men who start taking Viagra Connect must speak with their GP within 6 months of starting. 

Improvements in overall health will improve problems with ED. This includes, losing weight, stopping smoking, cutting back on alcohol, exercising and reducing stress. 

You should read the enclosed patient information leaflet carefully before use. Keep out of the sight and reach of children. This medicine may only be supplied to men and cannot be bought on someone else’s behalf.

Customers can purchase their items online and collect in store. If you do not wish to enter the shop when you are collecting, you can park outside and we will bring your order to your car. Orders are processed Mondays through Fridays and deliveries usually ship within one working day after you receive your confirmation. The deliveries are facilitated by An Post. 

There are no hidden fees or charges associated with any orders. We promise to be up-front with all delivery charges which may be associated with items you order. We only ship within Ireland so there are no import fees or customs to worry about.
