Piriton 4mg Tablets are an versatile allergy treatment that has been a staple in Irish households for decades. Unlike newer "non-drowsy" options, Piriton works quickly to suppress the body's allergic response. It is particularly effective for itchy skin conditions, hives, and insect bites, and is often used at night because its side effect of drowsiness can help those whose symptoms prevent them from sleeping. It is also one of the few over-the-counter options indicated to help soothe the intense itching of chickenpox.

How to Take

• Adults and Children (12+ Years): Take one tablet every 4 to 6 hours.

• Maximum Dose: Do not exceed 6 tablets (24mg) in 24 hours.

• Children (6–12 Years): Take half a tablet every 4 to 6 hours.

• Maximum Dose: Do not exceed 6 half-tablets (12mg) in 24 hours.

• Elderly: Consult a pharmacist; a lower dose of 3 tablets per 24 hours is typically advised.

• Age Restriction: Not recommended for children under 6 years of age.

• Alcohol: Avoid alcohol while taking Piriton, as it will significantly increase the sedative effect.

• Do NOT take if: You are taking or have taken MAOI antidepressants in the last 14 days.

• Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Not recommended unless specifically advised by your doctor.

3. Click and collect option is available from our brick and mortar shop which is free of charge. The shop is located at Walsh’s Pharmacy, Oranmore, Galway, H91 XF51. Customers can purchase their items online and collect in store. If you do not wish to enter the shop when you are collecting, you can park outside and we will bring your order to your car. You can call us at 091-702800 when you arrive. 

Orders are processed Mondays through Fridays and deliveries usually ship within one working day after you receive your confirmation. The deliveries are facilitated by An Post. 

There are no hidden fees or charges associated with any orders. We promise to be up-front with all delivery charges which may be associated with items you order. We only ship within Ireland so there are no import fees or customs to worry about.
