Phenergan Oral Solution (often called Phenergan Elixir) is a multi-purpose medicine from Sanofi. It belongs to the phenothiazine group of antihistamines. Unlike newer "non-drowsy" allergy meds, Phenergan is a first-generation antihistamine that crosses into the brain, providing a significant sedative effect. This makes it highly effective not just for itchy rashes and hay fever, but also for nausea/vomiting and as a short-term sedative to help patients sleep during illness. Its liquid form allows for precise dosage adjustments, making it a staple for pediatric and elderly care.

How to Take

• For Allergies:
            Adults/Children 10+: Start with 10ml (10mg) twice daily.

• Children 5–10: 5ml to 10ml twice daily (Max 25mg/day).

• Children 2–5: Max 15mg per day (often as 5ml twice daily).

• For Travel Sickness: Take the appropriate dose (usually 25mg for adults, 10mg for kids 5-10) the night before the journey.

• Age Restriction: Not for use in children under 2 years of age due to risks of fatal breathing difficulties.

Safety Warnings & Restrictions

• Pharmacy Only (P): Requires a consultation with a pharmacist. Maximum order is usually one bottle.

• Drowsiness: This medication will cause drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery if affected.

• Alcohol: Do not consume alcohol while taking Phenergan; it dangerously increases sedation.

• Medical Conditions: Consult a doctor if you have glaucoma, bladder issues, or heart rhythm disturbances (Long QT).

• Diabetes: This syrup contains hydrogenated glucose syrup (maltitol); check with a professional if you are diabetic.

3. Click and collect option is available from our brick and mortar shop which is free of charge. The shop is located at Walsh’s Pharmacy, Oranmore, Galway, H91 XF51. Customers can purchase their items online and collect in store. If you do not wish to enter the shop when you are collecting, you can park outside and we will bring your order to your car. Orders are processed Mondays through Fridays and deliveries usually ship within one working day after you receive your confirmation. The deliveries are facilitated by An Post. 

There are no hidden fees or charges associated with any orders. We promise to be up-front with all delivery charges which may be associated with items you order. We only ship within Ireland so there are no import fees or customs to worry about.
