Night Nurse Capsules are formulated specifically for use at bedtime when cold and flu symptoms—such as a tickly cough, runny nose, and aches—prevent you from sleeping. It contains three active ingredients: Paracetamol to reduce fever and pain, Promethazine (an antihistamine) to dry up nasal secretions and provide a sedative effect to help you sleep, and Dextromethorphan to suppress a dry, irritating cough. This 10-capsule pack provides 5 nights of treatment, helping you wake up feeling more refreshed during recovery.

Key Ingredients (per capsule)

How to Take

• Adults and Children 16+ Years: Take 2 capsules once a day, just before bedtime, with a glass of water.

• Maximum Dose: Only one dose (2 capsules) should be taken per night.

• Duration: Do not take for more than 3 nights in a row without consulting a doctor.

• Age Restriction: Not for use in children under 16 years of age.

Safety Warnings & Restrictions

• Pharmacy Only (P): A pharmacist must confirm this is appropriate for you. Do not take if you have already taken 4 doses of paracetamol during the day.

• Drowsiness: This medication will cause drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery the next morning if you still feel sleepy.

• Avoid Alcohol: Alcohol will significantly increase the sedative effects.

• Medical Conditions: Consult a professional if you have asthma, glaucoma, prostate issues, or liver/kidney disease.

Interactions: Do not take with other cough/cold medicines or antidepressants (MAOIs).

3. Click and collect option is available from our brick and mortar shop which is free of charge. The shop is located at Walsh’s Pharmacy, Oranmore, Galway, H91 XF51. Customers can purchase their items online and collect in store. If you do not wish to enter the shop when you are collecting, you can park outside and we will bring your order to your car. Orders are processed Mondays through Fridays and deliveries usually ship within one working day after you receive your confirmation. The deliveries are facilitated by An Post. 

There are no hidden fees or charges associated with any orders. We promise to be up-front with all delivery charges which may be associated with items you order. We only ship within Ireland so there are no import fees or customs to worry about.
