What is Methylglyoxal (MGO) ?

• Dietary Methylglyoxal, or MGO, was discovered in 2006 by German Food Scientists who found that high levels of Dietary Methylglyoxal are exclusively responsible for the anti-bacterial activity of some New Zealand Manuka Honey.  
• Normal Honey has less than 8mg per kg of Methylglyoxal while Manuka Honey has anywhere from 30mg to 900mg per kg of Methylglyoxal.
• The MGO™ Certification is scientific, precise, and transparent and leaves no room for error.

What does MGO 100+ mean?

• MGO™ 30+ Manuka Honey means honey contains 30mg per kg of Methylglyoxal.
• MGO™ 100+ Manuka Honey - 100mg per kg
• MGO™ 250+ Manuka Honey - 250mg per kg
• MGO™ 400+ Manuka Honey - 400mg per kg
• MGO™ 550+ Manuka Honey - 550mg per kg

• The MGO™100 grade of Manuka Honey contains enough Methylglyoxal for therapeutic medical usage, similar in theory to UMF 10+.
• 100mg/kg of Methylglyoxal in the honey is a minimum level to totally inhibit E.coli and Staphylococcus Areas in vitro as reported by Professor Thomas Henle of the Technical University of Dresden (Germany) .
• MGO 100+, like UMF 10+, is most suitable for daily consumption by people who do not have a serious medical condition but use Manuka Honey to overcome coughs, colds, etc.
• MGO 100+ has been shown to be capable of counteracting general bacteria

• Enjoy MGO™ Manuka Honey off the spoon, with food such as toast or drizzled over porridge, or add to a hot drink when you are feeling a little under the weather. Please note Manuka Honey is not suitable for children under 12 months.

1. €4.95 charge for all deliveries where the total cost of the order is below €45.00.
2. Free shipping applies for all orders where the total cost of the order is above €45.00.
3. Click and collect option is available from our brick and mortar shop which is free of charge. The shop is located at Walsh’s Pharmacy, Oranmore, Galway, H91 XF51. Customers can purchase their items online and collect in store. If you do not wish to enter the shop when you are collecting, you can park outside and we will bring your order to your car. You can call us at 091-702800 when you arrive. 

Orders are processed Mondays through Fridays and deliveries usually ship within one working day after you receive your confirmation. The deliveries are facilitated by An Post. 

There are no hidden fees or charges associated with any orders. We promise to be up-front with all delivery charges which may be associated with items you order. We only ship within Ireland so there are no import fees or customs to worry about.
