Imodium LiquiRelief 2mg Soft Capsules are an effective, pharmacy-only treatment designed to manage and calm the symptoms of acute (short-term) diarrhea. The clear blue, liquid-filled capsules contain the active ingredient loperamide hydrochloride. Diarrhea causes your digestive system to become hyperactive, pushing food and liquid through your bowels too rapidly.

Imodium LiquiRelief works by calming and slowing down this overactive movement. By returning your gut to its normal pace, your body is given the time it needs to properly reabsorb essential water and salts. • Capsule Fill: Propylene glycol monocaprylate, propylene glycol (E1520), purified water.

• Capsule Shell: Gelatin, glycerol 99% (E422), propylene glycol (E1520), FD&C Blue (E133), soya lecithin (E322), and medium-chain triglycerides.

Allergy Warning: This product contains trace amounts of soya lecithin. Do not take if you are allergic to soya or peanuts.

How to Take

Always follow the instructions on the package insert carefully. Swallow the capsules whole with a drink of water.

Dosage for Adults and Children (Aged 12 Years and Over)

Important Note: This medication only treats the symptoms of diarrhea. You must drink plenty of fluids (ideally utilizing oral rehydration therapy powders) to prevent dehydration. If your symptoms last longer than 24 hours, stop taking it and contact your doctor.

Contraindications: Who Should Not Take It?

Do not take Imodium LiquiRelief if you have or are experiencing any of the following conditions:

• Age Limits: Children under 12 years old (or under 18 for IBS related diarrhea without a prior medical diagnosis).

• Antibiotic-Induced Diarrhea: Severe diarrhea that has developed after taking a course of antibiotics.

• Inflammatory Bowel Flares: If you are having an active flare-up of inflammatory bowel conditions, such as ulcerative colitis.

• Dysentery: Acute dysentery, which is characterized by a high temperature and blood or mucus in your stools.

• Constipation or Swelling: If you are already constipated, or if your stomach feels hard, painful, and visibly swollen.

What Medicines Not to Take (Interactions)

Speak to a pharmacist or doctor before combining Imodium with other medications. In particular, avoid taking it alongside:

• Other Anti-Motility Drugs: Any other medications designed to slow down the gut or treat diarrhea, as this can lead to severe constipation or a blocked bowel.

• Certain Ritonavir Formulations: Used for HIV management, which can increase loperamide levels in your system.

• Quinidine: Used to treat abnormal heart rhythms.

• Oral Desmopressin: Used to treat extreme thirst or bedwetting, as loperamide can increase its concentration in the blood.

• Gemfibrozil: A drug used to lower cholesterol levels.

Customers can purchase their items online and collect in store. If you do not wish to enter the shop when you are collecting, you can park outside and we will bring your order to your car. Orders are processed Mondays through Fridays and deliveries usually ship within one working day after you receive your confirmation. The deliveries are facilitated by An Post.
