Acic 5% Cream is a reliable, effective treatment for the early stages of a cold sore. By stopping the virus from replicating, the acyclovir in this cream helps to speed up the healing process and reduces the duration of the outbreak. It is most effective when applied at the very first sign of a cold sore—often felt as a "tingle" or itch before the blister actually appears—but can still be effective if applied during the blister stage.

How to Use

• Frequency: Apply a thin layer to the affected area 5 times daily, approximately every 4 hours.

• Hygiene: It is recommended to use a cotton bud to apply the cream. If you use your finger, wash it thoroughly before and after application to prevent spreading the virus to your eyes or other skin areas.

• Duration: Use for at least 4 days. If the sore has not healed after 4 days, continue for up to 10 days in total. If it persists beyond 10 days, consult your GP.

• Pharmacy Only (P): While sold OTC, a pharmacist will verify that this is the correct treatment for your condition.

• Application Areas: Do not apply inside the mouth, in the vagina, or anywhere near the eyes.

• Pregnancy/Breastfeeding: Consult your pharmacist or doctor before use.

• Side Effects: May cause mild, temporary stinging or burning upon application, or mild skin dryness.

• Storage: Do not refrigerate; store in the original package at room temperature (below 25°C).

1. €4.95 charge for all deliveries where the total cost of the order is below €45.00.
2. Free shipping applies for all orders where the total cost of the order is above €45.00.
3. Click and collect option is available from our brick and mortar shop which is free of charge. The shop is located at Walsh’s Pharmacy, Oranmore, Galway, H91 XF51. Customers can purchase their items online and collect in store. If you do not wish to enter the shop when you are collecting, you can park outside and we will bring your order to your car. You can call us at 091-702800 when you arrive. 

Orders are processed Mondays through Fridays and deliveries usually ship within one working day after you receive your confirmation. The deliveries are facilitated by An Post. 

There are no hidden fees or charges associated with any orders. We promise to be up-front with all delivery charges which may be associated with items you order. We only ship within Ireland so there are no import fees or customs to worry about.
